Welcome

We’re so glad you’re here.

Ambiguous grief (AG) is a different kind of grief than you may be familiar with.  It is the feeling experienced from the loss of a loved one who is still living, accompanied by a change in or death of the relationship©.

We invite you to delve into our site to learn more about ambiguous grief, our exploratory survey, and the fascinating findings from the data*.

We’ve also created the Ambiguous Grief Process Model© (below) to illustrate the experience, as well as an assessment tool to help you determine if you’re experiencing ambiguous grief.   If you are, we also offer some insight on what you can do about it.

*Not to be confused with the term “ambiguous loss”, coined by Pauline Boss (1999), which represents a loss that occurs where there is no closure or understanding.  Our work in Ambiguous Grief is all original and further extends by providing a model and framework for the grief process after the loss.
